Hundreds of citizens commemorate the 71st Independence Day in Pluit Reservoir City Park, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. The event is held by Jakarta Provincial Government that cooperates with Lions Club Indonesia Foundation.

After ceremony, hundreds of citizens looked happy participated in various competitions such as bubble blowing contest, eating cracker, sack race, etc.

"Commemorating Independence Day by holding various competitions with local citizens. Evidently, they have the spirit of independence," said Sylviana Murni, Deputy of Jakarta Governor for Culture and Tourism Section, Wednesday (8/17).

Besides that, as many as 100 veterans in Jakarta received gifts. At the end of the series of activities, cultural arts performances held by school children, and entertainment events.
